missing time's concept and method for demise
out of slaughterhouse bound open-bed truck
an improbable escapee chose fate
lunging awkwardly off bridge's side

free-fall broken but not defeated
into man's made lake below
there'd be no Wellington for this bovine
a passing boat pulled her safely to shore

now of their newfound friend
and her flight from Waterloo
to visitors each day
Delta's tale is told

POEWHIT
I sort of got the feeling of the TITANIC. Jumping into the ice-cold waters in the dark night. An ego was defeated at Waterloo.

being vegan
not one bit of me didn't rejoice at bovine's escape from "slaughterhouse bound open-bed truck"... love here how free-fall is akin to flight, emphasising free not fall. made me smile. thank you.

Shannon-
Been vegan and variations of (lacto/pesco), as well, since 1976.
This story, of course is of imagination, but there is level of 'truth' within..

Much thanks,
Robert William

Delta blues
Probably nothing to do with this poem but reading it made me think of the recent beef recall. It was all about the abuse of cows headed for slaughter - which I find absurd. I know it's to do with madcow disease but they were still going to die!

Guess your cow was one of the lucky ones that Hollywood makes movies about from time to time.

Takes talent to write of cows. They're such dumb creatures that waxing poetic about them always seemed like wasted time to me.

I stand corrected...unless someone tips me over, of course!

desvelado/ of Delta's flight
desvelado-
This is more about "fate"/karma, struggle against odds, transcendence, consciousness, awareness..enlightenment..

clutching victory with seemingly defeated jaws...guess that's 'Hollywood' level..

Thanks for input,
Robert William

??? Francisco, your guess, I am clueless
When it comes to Bobby's stuff your guess is as good as mine, Fransisco. I usually haven't a glue what 7L is talking about, so you're not alone. Robert William is much too deep for my ordinary simple mind I guess. Clueless in Bobby7L's world. No offense, just being honest. That is something Bobby7L has always claimed to be is honest. Good for you and your writing Bobby7L, keep writing. Namaste;-)

TRKTL....Tale of tail...
On one level, this is just a little story of a lucky cow, which escapes slauterhouse demise by jumping off bridge into a lake.

Boaters who save this bovine name her "Delta", (for her "flight", off bridge and from her "Waterloo" (Wellington defeated Bonaparte there)..hence, "no (beef) Wellington for this bovine"...

Of course, on second level, it is about awareness of self and raising consciousnesss..(as in boaters telling of her tale to those who visit) ..

Imagining,
Robert William
