Unable to clean
the cobweb of years he eats
the passover meal
but forgets to wash the feet:
now drinks good friday prayers

Friday is Poets Day
Hi RK

When I was working we always called Friday Poets Day...

A funny story.. I ran a Military Workshops in Hong Kong... One fortnight in particular we sort of ran out of work and had done as much "Interior Economy” Up to and including polishing the brass in the urinals..

I thought “Knock the lads off early 3pm” The smile on their faces… About 40 Chinese Mechanics, most worked barefoot (they sort of got round me …and health and safety)… so would probably wash their feet when they got home…after saying that you could probably of eaten your dinner off the floor… their foreman made sure of that.

The next week was the same, though we had more work they raced through it and were ready to knock off at 3pm I let them go early again…..

The third week wow.. bogged down with work, but sure enough when I glanced out of my air conditioned office window overlooking the workshop- there they were packing up, sweeping at 2:30 ready for a 3:00pm knock-off.

I was not amused , to save them loosing face stormed out onto the shop floor and whispered “What the bloody Hell are you lot doing” Well it must have been a loud whisper because everyone in the workshop stopped in their tracks…. Needless to say the 3pm closedowns were nipped in the bud so to speak.

What’s poets day got to do with it…. Simple…. Piss Off Early Tomorrows Saturday.

Friday, I'm in love
My family observes Good Friday by not eating meat. They have no problem with a fish dying to fill their bellies though.

I like to taunt them by eating the biggest burger I can get my hands on.

Anyway, these practices are so archaic that they seem almost comical. Abstaining for one day is not going to get anyone a get-into-Heaven-pass.

I do think washing a woman's feet is sexy though.

Personal views aside, I enjoyed this poem.
