I find it getting harder… (whoops?)
To be on the Litorg site
To be up front and honest
Things can not be right!
I have seven-k of speed
Most stuff is lightning quick
To download just one litorg page
Makes me feel quite sick
It stays on the borderline
To glance at when I can
Because it’s always loading?
So tell me what's the plan?
Has my spyware killed the ads
Then left Litorg to die
So now it wont do anything
Is that the reason why?

Slow Mo
Eric,

I sometimes have trouble opening Lit also. It does seem to load more slowly than other sites. I have taken some web programming courses, and from what I remember it could have something to do with how the graphics are segmented for loading. You might notice that many web sites open in smaller sections, which allows all the color and graphics of each small section to load completely before the next section (packette) begins to load. Something like that.

Looking at the programming source this is a style sheet, written in PHP language. I think it would not take too much for the web master to redisign a better page; also there are years worth of writings that could be archived, compressed into much smaller files. They are not read very often but they still take up a lot of band width when the site is active.

Not that this helps your situation, but maybe explains possible reasons why. It seems pretty fast for me tonight, some nights I just close it down.

Adverts
Hi Brian

I have heard a lot of people say it is slow.... but what is slow.....?

I did notice a lack of adverts... in fact none and wondered if I had accidentaly banned them with security and that was stopping things.

Do people still get adds on Lit?

As I said all other pages seem to flash up almost instantly.... though huge photo pages take a while ie some picassa web albums with 600 plus large photos to open in one set...

I respect your info on web programming.....

Thanks

Eric
