Marooned

In this body
In this place and time
In this state of mind

Brooding isolation
Corrosive and compressed

The empty seas
Are vast and wild

Waves break as distant voices but
Nothing’s there…
No one’s there…

Echoes of the past and what is not…

The palms are scorched and thirsting
The gulls have flown
Away

Wingtip memories
And shaken
‘Neath blazing sun I lay

Shall I dive beneath these waters and
Explore their depths forever?
Or shall I journey inland
In hopes of something better?

Two paths of exploration
Levitation’s been forgot
Vast seas still vaster skies
Transposition’s
Taken all I’ve got…

I chose not this place
It's chosen me...

or in, more appropriately... I read this as a testament to the restriction of pure spirit, by human form and human consciousness... maybe this is an essence trapped in a limiting incarnation and longing to be free? ... desolate, but strangely Zen, this. enjoyed.
