in deep dreams
images soothing
keep you alive
nudge the body
playfully, saying
remember this?

it all happened
what was done
and was not

your childmind
tosses and turns
trying to connect
faces and places
to an awakening

it all happened
your nightmare
your deathbed
how you struggled
free and escaped
into sleep

they hover over you
whispering sighing
attaching and poking
shining lights
saying prayers

come back to us
they haunt and nag
we will not let you go

so you open your eyes
and see nothing again
it never happened

you were only sick
they tell you
it's going to be allright
it never happened
go back to sleep

Mr. Buknatski's American Coma
I agree with Lucie that this has several layers and possible interpretations. Thought/imagination provocation is always fun. Thanks for posting here.

Blessings;-)

PS.
One day Vermont will be it's own nation and the nightmares will end...though I think that the political correctness is here to stay, globally too;-(
