Midnight Cross , or M+ as it's often referred to, is a very creative comic book. Even before you read this review, you should jump over there and check it out.

I can't remember how I found this site, but I do know it was during my "Online Comic Discovery" kick. I've been finding them and bookmarking them for later digestion. I've finally gotten around to visiting them. Starting with those that sparked my imagination and kept me interested from the inroduction pages.

M+ has a great cast of characters. Not too many to keep up with, and not too few to bore me. Starting right out, there is group shot of the main characters and the layout is nice, compact and eye catching. The website loads quickly and has navigation options for the eye candy impared. Offering up a "Chromium Edition" , spiced up with frames, graphics, Macromedia Flash and all the goodies you could want all fitting nicely into an 800x600 screen resolution. And for those aforementioned, poor bastards with low grade computers or old software, the "Standard Edition" still offers a great feel, easy navigation and the same excellent content! The M+ Comics!

M+ is primarily a text based comic book serial. An electronic comic if you will. Mixed in are some nice scene shots for each issue, and the site has pics of all the main characters and big nasties.

So far the comic is in issue 8, with the last update back in April. Thats been a while, but hey, I just found the site, what can I say, their late, I'm late. Still a great find.

The M+ comic has enough action for your typical super hero junkie to get his fix while still dilevering up the cool real world relationships you'd expect from Super Humans if they truely exsisted. And everyone in the line up is well represented and written, from the Teams leader, Travesty to their flamboyant Dancing Machine, Scoundrel! The book centers around a group who try to do the right thing, and do a damn good job at it. They aren't Superman cardboard cut out like chumps. They are real people with extrodianry abilities trying to do the right thing.

"What kind of life can that be, though? Every moment is influenced by the cause. They live, love, and experience like anyone else, but always magnified by their role. When such a strong light is focused through that lens, people are inevitably burned" - Quoted from the Midnight Cross website.

M+ is: Travesty, Team leader and posseses the mental ability of data processing. Allycat, who has the uncanny ability to telport, herself and others in very cunning ways, Mustang with the powers of Plasma, the beautiful Riot with here electrically charged body, and Scoundrel, who like the web page says, got screwed when he found out he had the powers of Glitter?

The team really uses their powers well, fights well as a team and so far has a great dynamic among characters. The writing is excellent save a few misplaced pro nouns and mispellings. Hell, that just makes me like the book even more. Great writing, a few mistakes. Reminds us all the guys who write it are human!

Now, get over there and read it! Vist Midnight Cross for a good read.

Note: After writing this, I found out that for now, Midnight Cross will no longer continue in its present state. Super Hero Action got in the way of the story, so they are revamping the site. Still, go check out this story. Hopefully they will do something in the future worthy of this current incarnation of M+!
