"To see you naked
is to recall the Earth"
says Garcia Lorca

it's no sin to love
strip naked in bed, kitchen
or prayer room

the bodies don't shine
all the time nor passion
wildly overflows

but when we have time
we must remember the parts
arouse the dead flesh

rub raw with desire
peeling wet layers through light
sound, senses and taste

play the seasons:
the thirst is ever new
and blissful too

to recreate
the body, a temple
and a prayer

I think what I find so compelling about this is that it conveys a sense of both fullness and wholeness, that it’s both tactile and transcendental in scope.... the idea of playing the seasons appeals also, because it imparts a sense of fun to man’s relationship with the natural world, makes the seasons accomplices in seduction… a beautiful idea, that.

I have a gripe about "dead flesh" and would rather see there instead "dormant flesh", but otherwise, I'm happy that reading this makes me happy, provokes as sensuously as it evokes, and "peeling wet layers through light" is a wonderful line!

Thank you!

Thanks, windchime, for reading my poem and commenting on it. Shannon's comment, as usual, is uplifting and enlightening.
God bless

Glad I stumbled on this
Wow...well I have to shamefully admit that it's been a pretty long time since I've read you. I do believe it's been since around the time of the PM. But I think you've definitely gotten back my attention.

Mmmm have to say I am SOOOoooo a lover of words that just take you "right there" when you hear them. And boy-oh-boy yea this is one piece that does that. If that makes since....hey? I think that's the second time I've used those two words today? Must be in the mood to be "right there" Ok, so I said it three times.

This is lovely glad I came acrossed it.
