The Life
By: Sarah

It seemed she had the perfect life
With friends and family plenty
But when no one was looking
The life became a mess.

Her friends left her for dead
Her family turned away
Every night she prayed and prayed
for rain to wash away the pain

She turned to drugs and sex
to fill the empty gaps
Everything became a blur
Though she could see straight

Then one day the rain came
And washed away the pain
Her soul floated to heaven
While her body stayed behind

Her friends and family wept and cried
One they loved had died

Though she thought they turned their backs on her

It was she who turned her back on them.
