Pollinating the canvas with color
in our youthful splendor, as we
chastise the gods for this
barren wasteland, that can
stand no man’s apathetic valor;

whilst the thousands shy away from
growth in a post-
traumatic, stressed generation,
amidst the veneration of stogie-
laden cockneys riding the
breeze; and
I say,

“there are no meadows here,

just a fine mixture of sandy clays
and clayey sands
muddying the shoes of our youth.

There are no meadows here.”

"apathetic valor"
I pondered a while over this and couldn't quite figure it out... but then I'm thick ;)

to me this paints a picture of a dispossessed generation disappointed by so-called heroes who paint a vision of the world that does not match up to the reality of being young in a place where there are no meadows...

even close? enjoyed
