I was never an advocate or believer in permanent bans(other then for plagiarisers, spammers, and writers of obscene materials) for members. Since I've been a member at this site there has only been two banning. Wanda's(her ban will never be lifted) and Lilia/Demeter. I believe it's time that Lilia's Ban be lifted. It's been a year and I think a year is long enough.

Lilia was a respected longtime member of this site. She is a brilliant writer who wrote many provocative, controversial, funny and thought provoking poetry, essays and commentaries. Aside from her writing she contributed her time by commenting and critiquing many of the works at lit. She helped many on this site(including myself) become better writers by the encouragement she offered and the constructive criticism she gave. She also was somewhat of a firebrand and a lighting rod to chaos.

Lilia was an self styled Internet performance artist. She created multiple identities (Agape, Legs, etc) and created a voice for them that was uniquely their own whereby poetry and essays were written from a part of herself that identified with that persona. Now she wasn't the only one who used multiple persona's on the site although she by far used the most and the only self admitted one.. I never had a problem with the use of these persona's by her and others as long as they were used for creative purposes and kept in the box(secretly. And for the most part they were until a few were found out and accusations started flying about. The "Persona Wars" erupted and chaos and acrimony ensued.

Many members got upset and confused by all these false identities. They didn't know who was real or fake and thought about leaving. Action needed to be taken so it was decided by a majority that Lilia was to be banned. Chris and Nae were less tolerant about multiple persona's and all the bickering that was going on than I. Nae(who was the Head Moderator) asked Chris(who still had and has administrative powers) to wipe Lilia off the boards. I was against it Viper relunctly went along with it. It was a tough call and Nae did what she thought was the right thing to do and at the time it probably was the right thing. The bickering stopped but so did the membership. Many left the boards anyway.

I know that there are some members that are not going to be happy to see Lilia back but All I can say to those is to forgive, let it be, and renew the good relationships that you once had with her. Lilia has promised to stay within the rules and that's all that can be asked of any member. She's using a different handle which you can find on my blog she commented on or when she writes here again. I hope you all welcome her back in the fold.

my warmest
bob

Ban lifted
I was uncertain about the decision to ban this member originally, but since the site still hasn't recovered from her actions (ie. in terms of members driven away), I'm now 100% in favour of the ban.

Even if we were to lift the ban, this is not a decision that should have been made unilaterally by one moderator behind the backs of the other moderators. Especially since the moderator who took it upon himself to lift the ban has decided that a ban against Wanda will "never be lifted" (will Nae or I get to unilaterally lift that ban without consulting you?).

Sad to say, I expected better.

Hypocracy/Justice/and Karma
Viper,

I have a lot that I would like to say about your comment Viper, but I won't because that would only stir up bad blood all over again, and in your case it's just not worth my time. But, to blame me for driving away all members is ridiculous and pure hypocracy on your part and on the part of a few others and they know who they are. I'm glad to see that one of them is now gone. Bye-Bye Wanda The Plagiarist!

RCallaci,

I think you summed it up pretty well. As to my new handle, "Karma Tsering Lhamo" it is my real life Tibet name given to me by my Lama. The persona I now use on the internet is limited to my real life first of name, Lena, and my Tibet name of Karma Tsering Lhamo and none other. I can verify all of this as true should that question arise. I have not been doing much writing lately, but I do look forward to giving a creative whirl again from time to time.

Sincerely,

Karma Tsering Lhamo

au contraire
I know of one member who chose to stay away due to Lilia ad hoc. No, it wasn't me.

Well Bob
We all know of several members who left the site because of Lilia, whether Bob wants to cop to it or not.

Lilia's been kissing his ass off-site for months, and now he's given her what she wants.

Emperor Sans Clothing
That's just it, Bob: you've been running the site as your own personal playpen for months, keeping information to yourself, and cutting Nae and I out of every decision. You know what? I haven't contacted the new owner. Why? Because no one has given me his contact information.

I'm not going to fill the members in on everything that's been going on behind the scenes, but since the site has floundered during your self-appointed rule, and you've now decided to act on your own again by inviting Lilia back, people should be able to connect the dots.

I leave the site to you and Lilia. Fellate each other, have a ball, and watch the site continue to die.

Adios.

for the record
Before I get identified as a 'no' I'm going to state that I don't care if Lilia comes back and brings her entourage with her too. The internet, being what it is, allows for all manner of chicanery with questionable rewards for those who are less than satisfied with reality and the obligations it brings. If Lilia wants to post favourable comments on her own words again using another identity, I think she should fly at it. If Lilia feels insignificant just being one member and clones herself into multiple personas, I can't come up with one reason why I'd be 'outraged'. Perhaps it's because it's just too silly to get bent out of shape over the activities of someone I don't know or know even less about than I used to.
Knock yourself out Lilia .. fly at it ... praise yourself to the rooftops ... be a character ... whatever ..

Welcome back, Lilia!
Checked my emails as I do daily and two members had informed me of this news.

I'm probably the only non-moderator person visiting this site who never wanted Lilia gone.

In fact, I kept the memory of Lilia alive, and her and I came in together to Bea's Party of Rhyming Couplets a couple of months ago.

I agree with much of the positive attributes Bob ascribes to Lilia. I also think that positive attributes ought to win out over negative ones.

So, welcome back, Lilia!

I don't think the site is dead or dying. (I KNOW what dead or dying is!) I think it is changing. And why shouldn't it? We're not going back to 2004 when many of us, now for the most part gone, posted daily. We're moving forward, and with different dynamics.

Maybe one day I'll get back here too, on a regular basis.

I would hate to see Viper leave. I would definitely hate that...

2.)

Penelope,
The only "entourage" I plan to bring with me this time is a good friend of mine who is a published writer. He's written several books in the subjects of Kabbalah, witchcraft, and Cuban Santeria. He is a talented writer and wonderful person that I am sure will only be an asset to the Lit.Org.

Windchime,
Thank you for your kind words and for being someone who appreciates diversity and who is not afraid to move on. No- the Lit. Org is not dead....just changing. Everything changes if it is to grow otherwise it will fall victim to the plagues of inbreeding and creative stagnation.

Sincerely,

Karma Tsering Lhamo

It's been a long time...

I for one have been one of the leavers of the site due to the constant bickering and of constant hounding and accusations. I really didn't know that she was banned. I'm sorry to say now that I'm not glad she's back. I don't think I'll be coming any sooner either any way! But to sum up, I just wanted to give my opinion and I hope I won't get banned or get called anti-semitic or be accused of something I didn't do.

RESPECT
