Ok so we are in Iraq and Afghanistan, sure we took over, but we also are giving it back. We always seem to forget that we are American's we must always stand behind our country and our leaders. No leader will ever meet all of our expectations. We were attacked on 9/11 and we must have forgotten about that too.

I am so tired of my fellow American's downing America. Some are even saying that we should start learning Arabic and the Koran because they will eventually take over. I say hell no they will not, where is our fighting spirit people? We are not submitters, the political correctness movement has made us all pansies, weak little creatures of brave ancestors. Our Veterans fought for us so hard my friends, they earned this country with their blood. When you see the red in our flag from now on think of their blood, when you see the blue in our flag think of our freedoms, when you see the white think of your love for your country America.

Do not submit and begin to hate your own country no matter what. This is your home, your parents home, your family may have been here for centuries or maybe you are a new citizen, but you must realize that this is your U.S.A. Think of how much America helps other countries, such as Africa, some parts of Africa could not survive without our aid. Some countries try to go to war with us just so that they can receive aid, such as Korea. Maybe we have our bad dealings, but we equally have our good humanitarian efforts around the world.

Another thing wars have been fought since the beginning of time, it is not new, nor are its methods. More wars will follow this one, because we are a superpower, of course they hate us, and they the "enemy" and even some of our allies want you as American's to hate yourselves and your nation. Do not fall for the hype. Your an American start acting like one. It is ok to love being an American and everything that it stands for. It is ok to love yourselves for who are and not fall into worldly pressures that are wrong.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Yildirim

Perhaps what we all ( on either sides of all divides ) need is far more enlightenment . And far less blind ,unthinking jingosim . Of the kind that has riven so many apart. And certainly far less of the "I'm-always- right-and-you're-completely-wrong" mindsets.

It goes without saying though, that all that i've said here is completely utopian and never attainable . But there's little lost in taking the first tentative steps down the road -except our egos , vanities and narrow-mindednesses , that we cling to so steadfastly .

I ,for one ,am in open-mouthed admiration of the great Israeli conductor Daniel Barenboim .In him the world has a man who has ,single handedly, reached ,across bitter racial divides , to the Palestinians ,in the spirit of brotherliness. His true greatness of spirit has taken him where few of us could ever dream of going.
