Dear Nae,Ivor,Lucy,Kacee,Peter, Shannon, E-Maks, Wanda et al...sorry I haven't been around for awhile but life keeps interrupting my creative side. I do check in on you every once in awhile to see if you've been behaving far so good...but remember...Grandma is watching you!

I think my muse has gone on to greener pastures...someone younger perhaps? the song says....I WILL SURVIVE!! However, unlike faithless lovers, friends and streecars, muses don't come along every minute! In the meantime...I will keep reading you guys for inspiration.

I've kind of been lurking in the background - I pop in to mostly read and don't comment much. Hope life has been on an even keel for you.

What's with the writer's block?

If I recall correctly, you are somewhat of a night person, so try this:

Late in the evening, when things are quiet & peaceful, go into your kitchen. Make sure everything is straightened up and uncluttered. Dim the lights way down low. Light a candle. Put on some music that inspires you. Sit at the kitchen table with a pad of paper and something to write with. Open your heart. Something will probably happen.

Ma Bea
I have been busy too. It's me who has no time for my Muse, how about that? LOL. I miss you so much. Hope to see us all together again here. Love you. Peter

Aunt Bea...
Wow, I stop in for just a sec and find my favorite kind of people in one spot...

YOU are the inspiration... The muse, so stoke the fire Auntie...

I about to start the summer break and you have stoked the fire... just throw on a log and...

Sure would like another of those threads where we went to the Ball... we could use that as a good excuse to wipe the dust off of the pencil (or keyboard)...

All my favorite people are here (almost!)
Wow happy to hear from all of you...seems like old times.

Ivor...will send an e-mail soon.

Thanks Wanda for the good wishes.

Peter my boy...I missed you too...have forsaken lasange for walnut brownies...they don't take as much time and are to die you like walnuts on them or just icing?

Gomar...what a lovely surprise to hear from you. As for the writers block...this is the longest I've gone without coming up with something you guys would like, altho I have been writing religious poems for my church bulletin, but I don't post them here as most people aren't interested in them. I do have quite a few, that I'm thinking of making into a special collection.

As for writing at the kitchen table...I compose directly into my computer and have ever since I got it in 2000. I wrote in a composition book for 25 years, and now...when a thought hits me...I race to the keyboard where I jot it down and change it a hundred times before I'm satisfied.
You're right about the soft music tho...I always have classical music in the background whether I'm writing or not!

Hi Dan
You're's about time to start another thread...I'll put my thinking cap on...any suggestions?

The Muse
I believe that the people who possess the gift of creativity have the muse within themselves. Sometimes the muse can be purposely stimulated, but most of the time, it just walks into the mind and creates a ruckus at random times.

Welll... How about a good ole' western style Barbecue, or a country potluck and square dance, or a small town frontier-days town picnic, with sac races, egg on a spoon race, kissing booths, and roastin’ ears on the grill, and don’t forget the beer tent, just to name a few…

It's Party Time Again!!!
Hi Dan...I think I've got it! How about a virtual reunion on Lit..get some of the old crowd back and get to know the new ones!

We've been talking about getting together for years, but distance & funds have been a problem for most of can do it online. Get to know everyone, have a drink or two (if memory serves will be more than two for some of!) Formal dress uptional...I promise not to wear my famous flannel pj's and substitute my aue d' Ben Gay for my sexist perfume (honest...I do wear it around the house when the mood strikes me!!!)

We can all tell something about ourselves so we can get to know each other. One catch must be in rhyme...long or short doesn't matter and we can reply to each other more than once.
Are you intrested? I will post this in announcemnts too so everyone can participate.
Hopefully, we will bring back our old friends (ARE YOU LISTENING CHRIS & AERYN?) as well as get to know new ones better.

What say you?

Ars Poet
Thanks Aubri...the trouble with muses, like all creative artists, is they get antsy every once in awhile and need their own space...hence, they like to take off to explore other territories and check out the competition. Sooner or later they come home to what is familiar, as they know they are queen of their own castle.

They just like to remind us of that fact every once in awhile!!

better late than never
true to form I followed the hint of a proposed party over here... I always seem to miss posts in the Features section, for some reason… not terribly observant, I guess… Still, better late than never.

Good to see you around, even sans Muse. Proposed thread sounds like a good craic, and maybe just what’s needed to get creative juices flowing in the right direction again… though somewhat daunting, for those of us whose rhyming ability leaves something to be desired… me, for example ;)

Ah well. See you at the party…
