One Day Ill Be Like You
One day old man Ill be like you
My hands tired and torn
My back hunched over
My steps slow
My driving slower
My grandchildren lighting my eyes
My medicine cabinet full of things to save me
One day old man Ill be like you
And they would laugh at me
Though they would one day be like me
One day old woman Ill be like you
My hair dry and gray
My weight little from not eating
My cooking still superb
My heart heavy laden
My grandchildren given my name
My heart near collapse
One day old woman Ill be like you
And they will laugh at me
Though they would one day be like me
