If your heart felt dead
as it beats so slowly
while you lay sleeping
the blood flow
almost at a stand still
Would you let your self
drift off into the leeds?

Would you beat me up?
hit me in the head.
If I insulted your mother?
or told you
to "Fuck Yourself"!

Would it make any difference?
If you were still able to cry?
or did you never
cry-
as a young child
that didn't get his way.

In all this tired world
and in all this smokey polluted air we breath
We find a way to get kids to school
and a way to stop at the bank
and give them all are money

I don't want to retire
I don't want to ever stop
until I die
I'll keep crying.

Do not go gentle into that good night...
that's what this reminds me of, raging at the dying of the light... which sometimes is as much a part of life as death. for me this is a reminder of that, and a warning not to lose our humanity to the ordinary and mundane... It's entirely possible I missed the point, but I liked it.

Poem
Thank you for the comment. I appreciate you taking the time to read my poem. There really is no point to my poem or any of my poems. So don't worry about missing it. Whatever you take from it is the point.
