I said goodbye today, and left it all behind
Though I'm not really sure what I've walked away from
I'm burning up inside with all these crazy thoughts I just can't hide
And I don't know how it started, but everybody wants some

Say nothing really matters if that makes it easier on you
I'd be a fool if I believed that tale
Say nothing really matters if you can make yourself believe that it's true
Where have all the heroes gone? They've left us all behind, and now all that's left
Is just your heroes for sale

When you're buried in denial, the truth can be stunning
Now you're waging all these wars that we all have to fight
Those demons are behind you now matter how you try, so you just keep running. Run away from your past
But are you running from the darkness, or just hiding from the light?

Say nothing really matters if that makes it easier on you
I'd be a fool if I believed that tale
Say nothing really matters if you can make yourself believe that it's true
Where have all the heroes gone? They've left us all behind, and now all that's left
Is just your heroes for sale

I heard a voice scream, "Step up or step aside"
She said it so loud, you know he said it so bold
There was a warmth there that made me want to confide
But now that warmth is gone, and I'm just empty and cold

It's time to end these games so easily started
So build up your defenses, put on your facade
You say that this world has beaten me down and left me half- hearted
In the land of the heartless, the man with half a heart is a God

Say nothing really matters if that makes it easier on you
I'd be a fool if I believed that tale
Say nothing really matters if you can make yourself believe that it's true
Where have all the heroes gone? They've left us all behind, and now all that's left
Is just your heroes for sale
