On wings of avarice this novice flies,
his heart yearning for illicit lies
to fulfill his wanton need,
of cupidity, and greed.

Each must choose his pathos!

The rising moon is a false rise,
that gives way to cheap enterprise
for markets on the red-light street,
where sex and commercialism meet.

Each must choose his pathos!

Pitiful blades and pills,
each medicine that heals, kills,
this is the edict of teenage decree,
this is suicide to a multiple degree.

Each must choose his pathos!

When Pathos is Chosen...
Oh, the debacles that arise when nobody cares! Siah, you are a great illustrator of emotion.

Ars Poetica et Wanda
Thanks for commenting:D
I've been thinking a lot these days about rationality and philosophy. Religion also. And I've realised no answer is to be find in books. For some odd reason i got to this poem. I don't know how.

I just have to say that "cupidity" was a clever touch to a nice poem.

choose life, choose pathos...
intrigued by the idea of choosing pathos... it seems some are born pathetic, some achieve pathos and others have pathos thrust upon them... to me the greatest sorrows are those we do not choose, the sorrows which find us...

the language here is wonderfully agile and dexterous, particularly "cupidity, and greed", much food for thought here. thank you for that.

response to 'pathos'
Avarice as capitalism?
Poignant is our pathos.

Fine, the path least taken.
Question as unanswered.
