This modern world

Built from thrills, bills, prophets and promises
We all help make
Our own, our town, our home

I can’t escape the path I take
Yet, I fake it
Pretend I have control

In parting...In full

Most selfishly so
And who isn't?
“I don’t know…I don’t care”

Why should I care at all?

Or say, “who are you to judge?”
If questions are judgmental
Who am I not to?

"Who am I to you?"

Whether I make news or make a mark,
If I choose not to take part
Does it hold any worth?

In this modern world
