I read too much between your lines
Never know what your words mean
What your kindness is used for
I didn't think you were this generous
But this is the way you are
Which sadly doesn't make me special

I live in my room with no hope
Because I don't have people like you
Who show so much affection
As a friendly gesture that gladdens
My heart and helps me create
Great expectations that sadly disappoint

I thought you could be special
Maybe I am not good enough
For such a beautiful person as you
I believe I'm losing you now
My hope is gone and my eyes
Are looking down with nostalgia
For something I thought I had

This fondness goes my way
Doesn't come your way
'Cause I need to find someone else
A person who speaks my language
Of hope and great expectations
And a person who can look into
Eyes that cannot cry when they're sad

I dream too much about you
I even talk about you before I see sheep
I think about you every week
But everything comes to nothing
Because your kindness is nothing but
What makes you beautiful

Between lines
"Because your kindness is nothing but/ What makes you beautiful" is a sterling line, so full of pathos and regret. I'd read it a few times over just to get there.
