Revenge is a red wasp
It stings when I miss the local train.

Adoloscent energy
in a woman of thirty
Sipping bitter cups of tea
in a forest where
logs,twigs and delicious leaves
kiss fire so easily.

Empty railway tracks
cipher the past
I can recall old squabbles
like tables of 6 and 7.
Cousin X taunting at her place
Aunt Y smirking in M's marriage
Bully B roaring in tears...

the whining demon
cribbing along the suburbs of Kolkata
gaping at the foothills of Aravalli
confessing in Darjeeling
venting ink on fresh faces in Kalyani

A degenerate queen
shooting twenty arrows
at my ugly brains
while drinking
fifteen yellow minutes of impatience.

a taut, intense portrait of internal conflict, the poetry/ poetic processes it gives rise to, and the toll that takes on the poet... full of the seething boiling inner-life which comes out of memory and experience ... the word choices are apt, both brutal and bitter, and all images have wasp like precision and stingÖ to my mind at least.

think maybe I havenít understood it in itís entirety yet, but itís compelling and Iím sure to return. Thank you for this.

really good poem. It's life and I suppose it's a pain no matter where you live but it's better than being dead.
