It’s that time of year again
Where the cold freezes the tip of my nose
And my gloves
No matter how stylish
Never seem to keep my fingers
Frozen free
And my hot chocolate is always too hot to drink
But I get a cup anyways, thinking
It will warm me up while I stand
Outside in this
Frigid cold
It’s that time of year again
Where I take it slower
Than I normally do
And have an imagination
To realize everything
I’ve taken for granted
And I make a toast to myself
That I won’t take it for granted this time
It’s so quite when snow falls
The house can be full
Children and elders
On Christmas Eve
As it blizzards outside
But it is so quite
It is so still
We all lay here
Filled with love
This Christmas
This winter
Is going to be special
------ "If you get a feeling next time you see me
Do me a favor and let me know
'Cos it's hard to tell
It's hard to say
Oh well, okay"
Elliott Smith
