Such a little seed this is
the mustard seed of old
yet this seed of faith does have
such glory in its fold
for deep inside this little seed
the element of the truth
of life and love and peace and joy
and too, fountain of youth

This little seed of faith when sown
into the earth to grow
surprisingly one soon does find
life holds a certain glow
for working with the will of One
rather than against
one finds that life does magically
seem much more commonsense

With faith as like a mustard seed*
huge mountains can be moved
life is lived in trusting ways
all doubt has been removed
one can speak with boldness
and assurance that all\'s well
and life at last is harmonised
it\'s time to toll the bell

Faith and trust they work as one
when utilised with love
for all is seen as One at last
within, without, above
so take a leaf from book of life
and sow the mustard seed
and watch your faith grow every day
in thought and word and deed

*Matt 17:20

Humility is rare because to have it you have to want nothing, yet when you have it you get everything.

Mustard Seed
A long time ago my mother gave me a bracelet with a little charm...it had a tiny seed enclosed inside a glass bubble...I never knew what it meant until I started reading the Bible...Thank you for this poem...Kacee

Faith to live by
Right on Elizabeth. Faith is what keeps us going...whether it be for God, our family and those we love. Without faith, we would have nothing to live for.

Faith in God has to be absolute to work.

Faith in our loved ones is essential for them to suceed in life. A parent's job in life is to instill all the good virtues we know and live by and have faith that they will absorb it for if they aren't confident that we have that faith in them, they will surely fail!

Well constructed poem...I enjoyed it.

FAITH AS A MUSTARD SEED
Great rhythym, rhyme and excellent message on faith. Faith is such a small word and holds endless meaning. Without my faith, I would be a lost soul. This is beautifully written and very wise. PaulaAnne

Disturbing
I found this disturbing. But maybe that's because we've had very different experiences with faith -- and with what happens when it grows.

firstly thank you for commenting.... I guess we all have gauge our perspectives based on our life's experiences... for me faith has been very positive and for that I am grateful.

mustard seed
This topic is only real for those who have had experienced it. A leap is required. I lament the loss of those who've lived without its happening. Life is more to me that just getting through it. The faith journey is never dull, always challenging and ever present to those who've sought to take the trip and to have a conscious desire to acknowlege how things that happen are more than happenstance.

Exactly... faith in my experience has nothing to do with religion but all to do with the inner connection we have with the divine soul aspect which is our true Self....is it all about each of us as spiritual self/ves having a human experience.
Thanks for your input.

Faith Is
Elizabeth;

Thank you for this beautiful poem. 'Faith Is' when you know that it is the evidence of things not seen. Stepping out on faith when all others is looking for someone to fail. 'Faith Is' walking by Faith and not by sight. Knowing that you know, that you know, that you know. Faith Is' not hoping too long, because it may never come, but taking that leap of Faith and knowing it will happen.

Thanks for this awesome write...

Blessings,

yes and yes... you are so right... an experience of faith is an experience of love in action.... God's love that is.. thank you for your comment
