"she shudders like a snake in snow" worth the read for that line alone... uncompromising picture this, though I'm not sure I "get" it yet, I love the language used to paint it. Have read it three times already, and Iíll be coming back to it again. Good stuff.

Ironic redemption
I can't say I get it. I read it through twice and then read Lucie's comment. Went back for a third go-round and must say I liked the way her mind wrapped it for me. Still, despite the fact that I feel like something has eluded me here, I liked it very much. Great use of imagery and a thrum of tension that carried throughout.
