Learn to love yourself and you will learn to love the world
Love strengthens the mind guides the spirit and fuels the soul. Though love is invisible, its manifestations can be seen. Love does not hide. Love is everywhere found first in your heart and then in your actions.
Real love is patient, accepting and unconditional. Love is the reason a surfer gets up at the crack of dawn, a mother nurses a child, a person digs deep within to summon up extra strength to go on. Surfers who love surfing love life. Surfers who love life love surfing.
Love is the ocean on which all greatness floats.
Love is patient. Surfing teaches surfers the need for patience to be successful. The best surfers have learned not to rush into things, especially big waves. It pays to look things over, do a beach observation before paddling out.
Experienced surfers watch the swells, waiting for the best time to paddle out in between the waves. Other surfers rush out into the ocean only to get washed back into shore moments later.
Once out in the waves, surfers show patience by selecting just the right wave rather than haphazardly going for the first wave that comes along. Many times, the surfer who waits for the right wave catches the best wave. When it comes to surfing and love patience is best.
Love is accepting. Unlike most activities, surfing is subject to weather and other conditions. A guitar player can play anytime. A business deal can be cut anywhere. But, surfing needs the ocean and the right conditions.
Not every day is going to be perfect and not every day is going to be good for surfing, but wise surfers have learned to accept what they get and make the most of it.
Those who love surfing know all about accepting surfing for better or for worse. Just because the waves are good one day and bad the next is no reason to quit surfing. Even the worst wipeouts cannot sway a surfer's heart to stop surfing.
Wipeouts are a part of surfing surfers except, deal with and move on. When you cherish something, you stay with it accepting the good as well as the bad.
Love is unconditional. When you really and truly love something, you love it unconditionally with no strings attached. You do it because it's what you love, not what you get paid for or have to do.
Surfers seeking economic compensation do not last long. Surfers who surf purely for the love of surfing become great. It's not the wave a surfer rides that matters as much as the feeling a surfer puts into the ride.
Some surfers do not want to surf when the waves become too small or the water too cold. Others look for opportunity to go surfing regardless of external conditions.
Same waves, same ocean, different attitudes. When you love something unconditionally, your love will be unwavering.
Stronger than all the waves in the world, the power of love strengthens our resolve to become the best we can be. Though we are all born perfect in nature's eyes, there is always room for improvement. Be the best you can be by first finding love within.
Like a surfer waiting for a chance to paddle out, always be patient with yourself as well as others. Accept yourself for who you are: a divine individual like no other. Throughout the tides of life, unconditional love will sustain you through the highs and carry you through the lows.
The ever-changing tides of life are always changing even so one thing remains constant and that is true love for true love never changes.
See you in the surf.
