You've been busy, Crowe
Lots of announcements this weekend - you have been busy, haven't you, Crowe? :-)

I can understand why you've set up the donation system: I'm in much the same positions as you with - I've been running it for years without any kind of income from it; it's been a labour of love and at times it can be hard.

I haven't considered asking for donations myself, but I don't have the kind of community you've build up here. I did try advertising, but that didn't work. And Cafepress...? Well, after four months I just sold my first t-shirt. I can't believe I'm actually excited about two dollars, but I am. :-(

It's a difficult thing: when you put so much time into something, it would be nice to get something out of it. I hope the donations works for you.

re: busy
You bet I've been busy! And thanks for noticing ;)

I'm happy to give giving out of my own project. I didn't start this site to make money and the money we do collect will go right back into the site.

As for all the stuff I've done, it's been a while in the works. I finally got my to-do list for Lit.Org down to 1 printed page (2 columns 8pt font), so I feel pretty good about that.

I am pleased with how things are moving along and I think this will hopefully allow us to do more things that don't rely on my programming skills, like advertising or paying writers in contests and the like!
