Hey fellow lit people (there has to be a better way to say that). We have a new addition to staff, Viper9! I am very excited about him being on board. I know many if not all of you already know him and perhaps even like him (kidding Viper you know we all love you). I am confident he is going to be a great addition to staff as he has been a wonderful member for years. Welcome Viper, now get to work!

I am on a journey. Looking for Me. Everyday I get a little closer. The more time goes by the more I realize I'm always changing. This journey could take forever... Renae L. Soler

GREAT!! Congratulations VIPER!!!
I know I am only one voice.....I am VERY glad for you and the rest of us in Lit. It is good to see your brilliant mind on here as a writer/friend, but now it will even be a better place because of all that you have to offer.

Viper Moderator
Very COOL; promoting from within, and all that...

Thanks, Yo
Thanks for the kind words, y'all. Like Bob and Nae said when Bob was moderaterized a few months ago, we like to keep the moderating in the background, we're all anti-censorship, and our goals (I think!) are merely to ensure that people have fun posting whatever the fuck they want, as long as it falls within the guidelines.

Yeah, I hate to bring up the guidelines because they're the reason my 3,000 erotic opus hasn't yet been posted on this site. Damn it. Shouldn't have mentioned them. Now I'm weeping . . .

Welcome With Banners and Flags
My warmest welcome (with hugs) to you, Viper! Now, Nae, please as baptism, won't you put Viper in an Exposed! interview?

( Posted by: peterpaulino [Member] On: September 12, 2006 )

Not to..
..put Viper on the spot or anything, but, YES, Nae, will you Expose! him? And while we're at it, there's so many writers on Lit I'd like to see Exposed!. Even if they've been covered in the past, times change and so do people! I suck at interviewing others, though, so I should shut my mouth before I inadvertently volunteer myself to the job.

( Posted by: chinadoll [Member] On: September 12, 2006 )

I believe that Viper9 is an excellent writer and an interesting personality. I can't think of a better person for the job. I haven't decided if I prefer his posts or his comments better.

Viper9 writes insightfully. Sometimes he brings an understanding of something I've written that's never really crossed my mind. Best of luck.

Chinadoll and volunteers
I am waiting for volunteers for Exposed. I think you just did that! Step forward and let me know and we will get it rolling!

The Viper! He's come to Vipe the Vindows!
An old, olde joke...

Good show, old bean and what. Top marks for attracting the Vipe. I can't imagine what Lit is actually offering these good, kind, souls to do work. Free... electrons?

Rules to live by, online or off. My hat is off.

PS: Here's an idea for an Exposed, and I'll volunteer for half of it -- a Double Exposed. Two of us interview each other, on IM, at the same time, to be recorded and posted after both have edited to satisfaction. Viper? You game? Care to take on a born-again-Christian, liberal, midwestern/Yankee, marketing guru, video-game-playing, dulcimer-banging, peacenik maniac?

( Posted by: andyhavens [Member] On: September 12, 2006 )

This is all like baiting to an egotist such as I. Sheesh.

Thanks for the nice words. I'd be up for an Exposed if people would seriously find it interesting. But you'd probably be disappointed -- I'm boring, my time as a pistol-toting crack whore aside.

I'm hoping that with a new moderator on board we can try bringing back the Write Off again, make a fresh start. Y'all into that? If so, who would you like to participate (nominate yourself or another, whydoncha).

Sorry for being presumtuous about this, Bob. Haven't talked with you about it yet. But I did mention it to Nae. In passing, sure. But i mentioned it.

( Posted by: Viper9 [Member] On: September 12, 2006 )

Why not, Andy?
I'm game for that. PM me and we'll hammer out details!

"While God enjoyed snakes legs for tea"

Though slitherine and full of fun,
now unmasked, his works begun.
Does this now mean he won't be found
enjoying nowt' but clowning round.
New avatar has done him proud
for now our friend can shout aloud
"please post just what the fuck you want"
I'll judge what isn't relevant.

With nerves of steel and full of wit
he'll moderate our home at Lit.
So now to pass our Viper's test
your work must shine out from the rest.
For not in literacy will be
the judgment that he'll place on thee.
Though expert at his chosen art
his character sets him apart.

So welcome Viper to your role
for I for one, respect your soul
and hope that when I 'cross the line'
I may escape a heavy fine,
by referencing something you said
before you jumped into this bed.
And hidden by that clownish grin
your poetry was full of sin!

Have Fun,

Glad of it,, Viper!
Cheers to Ivor for that! He's back!

Stopped in here to say next to Nae and Bob, you are the best possible moderator! Someone is looking out for our site, making sure it stays as gracious a place as we have become accustomed to.
Glad to see your voice of moderation and style and creativity will be even more to the fore-

best to you-

Windy, Ivor, Emaks
Thanks very much to all of you.

And a poem for me, Ivor? That's awesome! I'm gonna print that out and hang it on my office wall with the haiku that was written for me last month. Tres cool, man.

But, Ivor, you should know that I have no soul. I discovered this last month. Thankfully, having so soul means that the news had absolutely no effect on me.

Thanks again everyone for the well-wishing and such. Now let's all get writing!
