So beautiful are the ruins of love,
casting tattered shadows across a bitter heart.
Time is too quick to chase away smiling memories,
and all too slow to heal to the wounds.

The taste for happiness has left
an undeniable want for survival.
Can love, in all it's glory and riches,
save us from eternal damnation?

Maybe it will be so.
Maybe it was all a lie.

Agree with Lucie here...
...love and eternal damnation go together like soy sauce and oatmeal. Maybe for some but not for me. First stanza was a true beauty, though. Perfect in and of itself.
