You rise to greet the day,
Every morning you are here,
I can only meet you for a time,
But you are always near,
Sleeping only in the midnight hour.

Your outstretched arms seem to call me,
But I'm here far away from your warmth,
Looking from my bedroom window,
Wishing you were next to me,
Or that I could be in the sky,
looking down with you.

As the day goes on,
you become more vague,
until you are but a whisper,
and the sky is barren and cold.

The sun has set, but we will meet again.

Really, I did.

it has a lovely whimsical feel to it.
