As she told me, “gone shall I be eight days”

My equilibrium shifted,
the ground below me seemed to crumble

The contraction of my life muscle did pulse,
for she would soon away from me be.

Day one I begin to feel cold,
not so bold am I without her

Day two the darkness of day surrounds me,
seeking to find the light that was her

Day three all joy and glee has left me,
knowing my thoughts betray my dreams of her

Day four to the floor I drop,
preying that God bring her soon back to me

Day five as no longer do I feel alive,
grasping the emptiness of air I fear she not to return

Day six clouded in the gloom of my lonely room,
I cry tears of need as I whisper “I Love You Videl”

Day seven wishing I was dead,
so my soul to her could go

Day eight as the corpse rots without life,
my mind, body and soul now do without her at my side

------
More than seems, less than known...

Love and Longing
The loneliness simply oozed from this piece. The depth of feeling was undeniable - the strong choice of words carried the emotions well. I hope your love returned on the 8th day!
