You are the thunderstorms in my head
The rain that almost drowns me sometimes
You are the reason I'm still alive
To make sure you pay for your crimes

You are my dark secret past
You are the pain in my smile
You keep me tied to your leash
Just let me go for a while

You are the loudest silence
Heard in the back of my mind
I have to check up on you
Or you'll sneak up from behind

We can sit here and stare
At people you've never met
But when they do get the chance
I'm sure they'll never forget

I find it hard to believe
It's only you and me here
So many people in this world
You're with me year after year

You are my own private hell
With you I'll never be free
One thing I know brings me joy
When I die, you die with me

For Yael

Loudest Silence
I am not completly sure who this mystical silence is, but I do like the urgency that is woven into the thread of this poem. That silence, is it to be compared to the darker side of a heart? Without that side one cannot live, yet one desires to do so.
Again, I am drawn into your poem but I cannot fully grasp it. And fantastic title by the way.

Loudest silence
Sometimes those memories, that voice becomes more real than the life we lead. Glad it won't drown you. This is a very passionate take on it. Very well written.

Thanks for the comments, ladies. This poem is about what happens when you have a bad day for a couple of years :)

You must be Jewish, right? Why else would you pick a name like Jewlicious? That would be like a Jew using the name Wasplicious? Funny. Who is Yael? Reminds of a play on Ya'll, of course that would be ridiculous because I know that Yael is an actual Jewish name. Interesting poem. I think you write very well. I can tell you are a multifaceted writer just from the variations in your poems and subject matter. By the way, what is the subject matter here? Is seems so intense. It reminds me of something. An abusive relationship. Is that what it is about? I found your comment interesting. You say that this poem is about "having a very bad day for a couple of years." Wow, that's terrible. I hope it wasn't you. Very good writing in any case.

The poem is about trauma and failing to overcome it. Yael is the girl that inspired this poem. And yes, I am Jewish. And thanks for the compliments
