What ever happened to romance?
To chocolate, candles and lace?
To whispers, seranades and caresses
and slow dancing with easy grace?

What ever happened to strolling
On a lazy summer day?
With picnics spread in a grassy field
WHile laughing children play?

What ever happened to chastity
And cherishing love all of your days?
Old fashioned honor and holding most dear
Are but flotsom on wild ocean waves.

So come, my love, and walk with me
In the warm pale moon lit night.
Come talk with me and laugh with me
And love me 'til morning's light.

Love it! Perfect rhythm, flows well, and the subject matter has a timeless appeal. Hope you and your hubby can go on one of those walks soon.

I am a sucker for romance - sorry!! Thank you for your kind comments. My work can be very emotionally draining and I was trying to think of positive things. This little poem popped up and demanded to be taken seriously. Thanks to my sweet husband for helping me fix the last verse and for promising to keep romance alive!
