She looked into the frost-bitten mirror
with eyes made of waves of azure
and streaks of clouds that have fallen
from the sky, envious of the beauty
reflected in the mirror, framed just like
a photograph by threads of near-white
like a spiderís web in the corner
and her lips were stained with red
vibrant, with butterfly kisses given away
and she smiles, trying out happiness
but it feels false, just another little lie
that tears with greedy fingers, never
relenting at the too-beautiful reflection
because once you start, you canít stop
and she always knew the monster hid
beneath the bed or in the closet, proving
those not-so-fairy tales from her childhood
but now itís within that frost-bitten mirror.

This one tears along at a breakneck pace. Love it. What a wonderful, rich, detailed scene this conjures up.

Very beautiful, very well written. The detailed scene is so damn perfect and chilling.
