Muse beware
Thought is there
It hides alone
A dead manís zone
A Constant fight
To get it right
But lose the thought
More times than nought
Attempt to ink
But lose the link
Muse beware
Iím almost there.

I am on a journey. Looking for Me. Everyday I get a little closer. The more time goes by the more I realize I'm always changing. This journey could take forever... Renae L. Soler

Almost There
"But lose the thought/ More times than nought". Yup, think we've probably all been there. I'm there on a daily basis. This poem works because it's true, and because it sums up the daily struggles of writing in an optimistic, glass-half-full way. The rhyme works great, might try chanting this next time I'm losing thoughts.

My Muse
usually hits me in the wee hours of the night and if I don't get up at once and write it down ...I loose it...and my Muse will nag me the rest of the night...I think mine went on vacation...thanks for this poem, Nae....Kacee

Muse is in hiding
Eric, one thing is for sure, we know your muse is always available to you. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi there Bran, thank you for your cut up, LOL. Welcome to lit.

AuldMiseryGuts, here is hoping there is never a time your muse gives you a hard time. Thank you for checking me out.

Hey there Kacee, girl my muse seems to be sleeping when I am sleeping and sleeping when I am awake. Man going to have to spook him into shape.

Almost there
I like this poem. The short, clipped lines and stubborn "Muse beware / I'm almost there" brings to my mind's eye an image of a member chasing down his or her absent-minded muse with a freshly inked pen.

Makes me laugh, too, because the clipped lines remind me of sitting with a look of consternation on my face, slamming up walls against all other trains of thought for fear of losing the already tentative grasp I have on the word, phrase or idea that's rapidly receding.

In other words... thanks for posting. ;)

The Poets Curse
Thought is there, Nae's almost there,
to link with ink so Muse beware.
More times than nought you hide alone?
I'm sure our Nae will tempt you home.

Her constant fight to get it right...
will tempt you into dead man's zone!

Muse and me
don't agree
at which time
she visits me.
She's been away
but not to stay
she usually knows
the way I play
When her time's right
she helps me write
at other times
stays out of sight.
It's muse you see
decides for me
what words
that we
must both
set free
Then like a woman
she will be
a constant nag
'til I agree
to grab a pen
and write a verse
controlled by muse
... the poets curse!

Thought is there, Nae's almost there,
to link with ink so Muse beware
more times than nought you hide alone?
I'm sure our Nae will tempt you home.
her constant fight to get it right
will tempt you into dead ma's zone!

King of rhyme
Hey there Ivor! Welcome home! I see you know a missing muse too. But yours seems to hang around often.

Having fun,

Nae..I liked this one.
It was short and nice. Nice rhyming too.The flow was smooth too.Whenever I have some idea I just wake up even if it is midnight and write it down. I fear I might forget it later.

Sometimes I have got things through my dreams. Like "The Eye of the Killer", my short story on this site.

Going to have to look that one up. I have a few poems like that posted here but they are old ones. Man ressurecting those would be cool, LOL.

Thank you for stopping by.
