Hey members, there is a new feature that I hope all will use when necessary. You should all be seeing a red "Report" button on comments and posts. It is to be used to flag moderators when there are posts or comments whose sole purpose is to flame other writers. We will be alerted and can deal with the situation.

I hope that this new system will be used verses commenting on the comment and making the situation snowball.Hopefully it won't be needed ever. (well a girl can dream, right?)

Now let's all get back to writing!

Nae

I really like the open-ness of non-emotion you have captured here. By including all of us ("Hey Members") you have broadened the threashold for the reader, and opened the "mind's eye" for us to see the posibilities that exist...OOPS, I'm supposed to analyze it...(attempt at humor)

Anyway, Thank you for your efforts to keep this place litter free and I agree with Lucie, not to be used to cry "wolf".

In all seriousness, your final statement "Now let's all get back to writing!" is right on track, the reason all us readers and writers attend this forum -- Lit.org. There are many others out there but most of us feel that this is home and we must keep it litter free.

Sorry for the weird attempt at humor, hoping to launch a lighter trend here.

Good idea
Reminds me a bit of the Digg system where if a certain threshold of "this isn't relavent" clicks are made on an item or comment, it disappears from my view, based on my choice of threshold.

Flames is bad. Comments on comments of comments about comments about flames are tiresome.

Good idea, my hardworking moderator friends. We'll see how it works.

Big Red Button
I'm an agumentative bugger
who never will agree
With everything that everyone
can say to get at me.
But now I've got a button
to bring on sexy Nae
Who can say exactly what she likes
and have it any way!

I'm comforted to sit and think
I'll never have to stand
for flaming comments anymore
that I can't understand.
I'll conjour up my genie,
an angel in disguise
And she will scare them all away
with a twinkle in her eyes.

So if you want to take me on
with hatred or bad taste.
I've got a button I can press
to bring my friend in haste.
And suddenly from my distress
pure comfort I'll receive.
The benefits of this new scheme
are easy to percieve.

A Big Red Button facing me
alone's enough to tempt.
But Temptress too,
my dreams come true,
it's use I'll not pre-empt.
So now all those who mean to hurt
can never have their way.
For all they'll do is help us call
our Nae to share our day.

Ivor: Is that how it works?
If the deal is that Nae comes runnin' "to have it any way" when I push the "big red button," then I may start trashing myself in my own comments on my own posts and pushing the button just to see what happens.

Reminds me of the Daffy Duck / Porky Pig cartoon... "Don't evuh push the wed won..."

Nice work, Ivor. Made me laugh.

Bravo.
Big Red Buttons all round - and twice on Sundays. Can I also have a Big Purple Button marked 'sanity'? It will make the big red button redundant. And when I am old, I will wear it, all the time. I hope I get old soon. Actually, I hope we all do.

Nae, Congratulations!!!
On your new position, (why did that sound so sexual?).....hmm, perhaps it's because it is addressed to you and you know your posts, well mighty hot writer that you are, no one can compare.

Well I want to congratulate you. This redbutton feature I hope will be a good thing. I would like a "repeat" button or some happy faces like Yahoo has LOL. NO!! Not those exrated ones, the reglar ones would be fine!!

It is good to see you here, and the familiar faces. I don't know for how long I will be able to stay on board.

And you want Wonder woman's body? Heck what would you ever do with that hanging around LOL. I just wonder what happened to this woman's body, MINE!!!! Heading for 49, 50, if I make it!!!!

Thanks and enjoy your new position Nae, LOL, hehehehe...... Dar xo

More buttons
Oh Eric, you are such a silly chap. What would lit be without you?

Charlie, I too think this is going to help out quite a bit. Glad to see you on board.

Yes Pen, we stole the idea from WF (of course our sister site) and mighty Crowe put it to use! He is still the man.

Dar, so happy to see you here my friend! And so what if it sounded sexual... I won't tell, LOL. This place is starting to feel like home so stick around!

Love you guys,
Nae

Red Buttons Control Free Speech
I do not blame Nae, I do blame the happy little red button pushers who like to control, who cannot stand any kind of criticism or dissent.

Red buttons have no place in a free speech society, even less so on a writer's site!

Unfortunately
We can not please every member all of the time. This is a privately owned forum not a newspaper. This is the easiest way for me or other moderators to be notified. It is hard otherwise to know if someone is trying to flag me down.

Sorry you feel that way.
