An old man walked into the meeting,
it was raining cats and dogs...
the weather forcast had been the
same for days..
dryer than the back of old bore hog.
But something about this morning
brought the storms in without
warning...
and as he set down wetter than wet
right before the
service call.. I heard him
say this prayer.............
Lord here Iam nothing much
left of me, to give to you.
and just like my pockets,
no matter where i ran.
I came up empty without you.
And I dont understand why
you would want to save
a man like me.. but if
you have me now I'll be
the best that I can be.,.
AS he fumbled through his
coat for change I looked
out through the window..
while it was still pouring
down, I could have sworn I
saw the Eyes of Jesus
just above the clouds...
It was just an ordinary
day to many...
but a day I'll always
remember......
when Jesus hung on the
cross to say
how much he loved me.
Though a man of plenty
I realized , hearing
the old man's prayer,
that I could pass on
never knowing
who Jesus really was
or why he even cared,
until I saw a child
sit down beside the
old man, while holdin
his hand they both began
to pray.........
It made me think
we're all one of a kind,
In the eyes of Jesus,
we are all his children,
and in this world, we're
quickly passing through.
