The Spirit still arches-
vaulting over the stone
where the Body had lain.
Savaged to ribbons.
Excalibur lunged through
the very heart of Being.

The Cup touched
by those dying lips
still infused with
the divine glow ,
hovers over the maw
of that swoop
into the very depths .

The bush
long riddled with thorns,
now drenched
in the Blood,
flames into enchanted flowering.

Yet-
massed banks of white
loom
sinister in the distance.

Thank you ever so very much for that kind of rating.

RJKT, think what I liked about this one most was it's understated Gothic quality; some great lines and images, the spirit vaulting over stones, the bush long riddled with thorns, drenched in blood and flaming in to enchanted flower, all great stuff, reads like scenes from some Arthurian legend, but with no daft archaicisms of language to spoil the flow. Personally I could have done without the word maw, but that's only one word and it's an entirely personal thing rather than a criticism of the piece. This one was a pleasure RJKT.

Thank you Shannon for the point you made about the use of 'maw'.

Bravo !
I also warm to this brilliant composite creation of vivid imagery.
