Anguished stumblings
through the empty places of the soul …
ravaged by doubt…
seared by despair…

Ardently wishing,
your Being opens out
to the incandescent glory
of the Lux Aeterna….

Yet ,too terrified
to let the pen range
untrammeled over paper-
voicing your deepest thoughts
and fieriest passions-
lest you should soar
too close to the sun.

Still -
wouldn’t you rather
trudge on ,
bereft of God’s grace ,
than be blessed by Mammon…

Never forget
how Midas
destroyed all he touched.

RJKT's words of wisdom
just had to say loved those last three lines, reckon they could probably be a poem all on their own. Great stuff.
