The Dodoitsu is a fixed folk song form of Japanese origin and is often about love or humor. It has 26 syllables made of of four lines of 7, 7, 7, 5 syllables respectively. It is unrhymed and non-metrical.

For all who like a challenge...and love to try different forms of poetry...add some of your own folk songs with a Japanese twist...Kacee

I love to try new things ...I get all excited and want to pass it on...I'm glad you are starting to feel the same as I do about the dodoitsu...I have even tried the sestina...which is a tuffy...It is being published in a poetry Mag...in it's next issue...I'm so thrilled...Kacee
