I left the room
In my peculiar way
To share my hours
With you today

The lap-top, camera
Endless notes
Gave way to shoreline
Seagulls, boats

As endless lectures
Echo on
I walk with you
At misty dawn

And on throughout
The blissful day
We stay full-close
Full-merry, gay

In somber moments
Pulling close
I feel your kiss,
My tender ghost

You walk along
Collecting shells
With sounds of distant
Buoy bells

As seagulls cry
And fight for scraps
While nodding grandpas
Seek their naps

Impassioned lovers
Clutch and mesh
In blanket burrow,
Sand and flesh

And nursing mothers
Call to tikes
Returning them
From wayward hikes

Still all the while
I walk with you
We, hip to hip
Against the blue

While cool, brisk wind
Tugs at our hair
And sails our shirts
We’ve not a care

“Till microphone
Too close to source
Screams, “wake, come back,
Complete this course!”

There's only today

nitz and pen
It's a terribly soggy day here - nearly had to swim to the Humanities Conference this morning.

Thanks for commenting. Nitz, I know what you mean about faceless ghosts. I have dreams of people I've never met, but seem to know with complete familiarity.

This one was more about wanting to be with someone who was off at the shore when I was in the conference - yes the ending was harsh, Pen!

The poem was surreal, reminding of so many dreams I had with secret lovers. Then the end came, and rudely awakened me from my spectacle, again, like most of my hedonistic dreams. Lovely read.

I hate it when that happens. You are walking along in this lovely dream world. la la land if you will and someone takes you by your hair and jerks you out of bed. I love the sensory details!

Siah - seashore Ghost
I am so glad to see you reading my posts. I appreciate your time and comments.

Yes, don't you hate it when that happens? I've had many a dream that I was so disappointed to discover was not my reality.

It is harsh - however, I would never choose to be without the disappointment if it meant not having had the dream in the first place.

Thanks again!
