Escaping the Drip

I’ll meditate my way
into serenity
Escape into the Oneness
with my sanity
Expurgate my anger
and iniquity
Reduce myself to zero
with philosophy

I would make my way
into the jungle
travel to the land
of the pagoda
study with the students
of the Bhudda
answers in a verse
that doesn’t rhyme

I might not return
to daily debacle
escaping from this culture
is a miracle
a nature that has made itself
a spectacle
its road to self-destruction
is intractable

Simplicity in living
is like medicine
Spiritual clarity
a vitamin
In this land of sickness
I’m a specimen
that craves addition
of the Bhudda’s acumen

Love the title!
I wish this were as easy to do, as you write it. The flow is nice, the words meaningful.
At first I read "'medicate' myself into serenity"... yours is a better way to serenity-
The eastern way owns so much more of the reality of humanism, but is so hard to achieve for our western selves. Thanks for this. It's very calming and accept-driven, far from life in the good ole USA, and so much written here that would be beneficial if only we could stop the merry-go-round for a bit...
Nicely done. I hope I can remember the tone as I try to sleep tonight-
blessings-
