Wanted to stop in and say hello and relate how I miss being here to read all of your words of wisdom and humor and beauty and sublime ingenuity.
I am ensconced in all manner of matters that take my muse, and leave me little time for my fun, which includes my Lit time. Some of these pursuits are for the benefit of others, and some for my very sad, dwindling, pittance of a bank account.(Send money if you feel so inclined.) Lucky I am to be an optimistic soul and know, with surety, that fortune waits around the corner...

In coming up with title for this blog I thought I would mention Drsoos' query for Roman interpretations. I don't know that any are actually accurate as numbers go, but, so what?-

-LIVID- this is the number I feel when I think about my continuing saga to squeeze owed money from my ex... who's name happens to be Roman!

-MILD- this is my natural nature, or so I'd like to think (unless it comes to Roman)

and finally, for now

-CLIX- something that has been a plague since middle school, still is a plague in middle schools, and I seem to remember it even being a bit of a subject here at Lit.org.

To the subject of Countrymen, just a throw-out from exasperation- What the hell are they doing? Amendments to the f*@%ing Constitution about gay marriage and flag degradation, but no address to war, threat of war (Iran's nukes), avian flu, homeland "security" (can you BELIEVE they cut NY and DC budgets?), healthcare, energy/oil, ... , ...!!!
They sure know how to get all the patriotic fools to focus on the really important stuff. Can't wait to see what comes up between now and November to keep everyone distracted from real issues...

Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say I'm reading when I can, but missing way too much. Damn kids and their "needs"... (hope you know I'm kidding!) I'll be back when I can, and I hope that's good news to some of you!
Hold you in my thoughts and good wishes, all of you, but especially those of you who know without a doubt that I do!

Love, love, love (and namaste!)
Elizabeth

*throws right ear*
Well, if you ask my, the next hot distraction issue has already been unveiled: destroying our system of immigration in favor of the French guest-worker system, which has engendered in that country a large, disenfranchised population with a tendency towards violence, radicalism, and ill feelings towards the country thatís kicking them around.

As for gay marriage, the other day this conservative Republican was on the Daily show with Jon Stewart, and they were talking about gay marriage, and the guy said something that really rang true with me: the battle over gay marriage is lost. It already exists in two states, and just like the civil rights movements back in the day, the adoption of it as a nationally protected right is inevitable. Itís just a matter of how much longer guys like him can stall it.

But, again, while this *IS* an important issue, itís still just a distration from energy issues, oil prices (which is killing this poor assed college dropout), the impending war on Iran, and the continuing crisis is Iraq.

As for your ex, I could go beat the cash out of him if youíd like ^_-

Anyway, good luck with all your endeavors.

Love. Peace. Metallica.

fun by the numerals (LXIX?)
I had more romanerically stuff but of course nothing comes to mind when I wish:

MD- not me, I'm a lower case dr.

Tuff stuff with only one vowel to work with.

I like what you've done here, please feel free to add it to my thread of limited possibilities.

Wishes, and Blessings
Lilia, so glad to see you post to me. I get confused in the irrate stuff as to who belongs to whom-
Very concerned to hear about your ill health. Sending positive blessings to you. Hope the mend is at hand.
Your children, (and grandchildren) have a wild "Demeter" streak- must make you very proud!
I love when my daughters stand up for their beliefs, even against WVA red-necks, holding shot-guns! (Although, I do advise them which seem like 'Deliverence' affectionados, and which just seem like innocent rednecks)

Really nice to hear from you. Thought you "whipsters" black-balled me, but don't forget I am a sychzoid, freakin poet-
Hope you are feeling better and better, My good thoughts always include you...

blessings-
Elizabeth
