Roots

You won't always
own a house
own a car
own a racehorse
own a private island

But you may
always own a grave

forever stable
in its place

a permanent address
where you'll receive
all visitations

You -
will -
not -
move -

from that place
where you will lie still
and dissemble -

crumble -

your energy and matter
degrade
to a less efficient form
and your name

fades

like those of forgotten pharoahs
desperate for the false
immortality

of names

we find
engraved vainly
in
windworn
stone

Crumble
Nicely scripted. And I will live forever, for my name has been engraved in the wind.
