Dying is a real test of your social status - if you're a woman, it better not cost you your looks.

And they say women aren't practical.

Men have their own trouble with dying, and it's because we think we're logical. But we say we're logical with our fingers crossed behind our backs. When Jesus said "the Son of Man has no place to rest his head," he shoulda added, "and no place to park his shit." That's what Heraclitus is all about, No Parking.

We guys keep our fingers crossed behind our backs for luck. Good luck. In fact, we're looking for where the good luck starts and doesn't stop. That's what we think Heaven is, which shows how logical we are.

You see, women's concern for dying is cosmetic: they're afraid they won't look good at the funeral. When it comes to karma, you know they'd take the lighter load.

We guys say we're smarter than that, and keep our fingers crossed.

I just had someone that I was close to pass away from pneumonia and a bad prostate. He wanted to die six months before he finally did. All that time he was talking about suicide. He went on a trip to Seattle and came back from the trip with pneumonia. He was in the hospital and died of teh disease.
