Remember when you were in high school,
what was your priority?
The main thing was to be in the right crowd,
never in the minority,
to have the right cloths and name brand shoes,
these were all a must,
and a car to drive when you turned sixteen,
you just had to have it or bust.
The decisions you made weren't always right,
and I tried to understand,
and I figured out that you had to learn
from experience now and again,
and as your children grow, I hope that you know,
to love them and trust them and guide,
never criticize or put them down
so that in you they'll confide,
and if I've done my job and you do yours,
your kids will grow up to be,
just as wonderful and important to you,
as you all are to me.
