Boom-Boom Kitty paused to consider his strange new powers of sight. He could look straight ahead, of course. But he could also see behind, below, above, all at the same time! So no one mean to kitties could sneak up on him unawares!

Taking off again like a shot, running in great leaping super-kitty bounds, he decided to pay his friends a visit, and show off his new super-kitty powers.

First, he went to visit his friend, the wise old horse who lived northeast. To date, the stable pasture had been the furthest extent of his adventures, a journey that previously had taken almost an hour. But now, with his new super-kitty powers, he was able to bound there in moments!

The wise old horse nodded and whickered, seeing at once through his disguise. He slowed his pace, leapt atop the split-rail fence, trotted up to the old mare, and touched noses in greeting.

Boom-Boom Kitty loved this place, in part because the people here were kitty-friendly and were always glad to see him. They even fed him from time to time.

The only blemish was the mean dog that lived next door.

No one liked the mean dog, or the mean people that kept him. They were very cruel to all animals, except the mean dog who was like them. They shot birds and other small wildlife with a pellet rife and laughed when they were maimed and injured. And they gave these poor victims to the mean dog to finish off.

Boom-Boom Kitty knew the sting of that weapon, as did the wise old horse, but fortunately they had been too far away to have suffered any real damage. And more than once he had almost fallen victim to the cruel young men who lived in the dirty little beer-bottled and cigarette-butt-strewn house and their cruel dog.

Snickering to himself in kitty fashion, Boom-Boom Kitty decided to pay his former tormenters a little visit. Anyone who would shoot at his friend, the wise old horse, with a pellet rifle, deserved what they got!

You are the alien.
