I've been dragging my butt lately, waiting for summer to arrive. I don't have writers block, I am just tired of the gloom and doom of winter. I don't feel motivated to write anything although I'm sure I could put together a few articles.

I think the rest of the household members (including Tessie, my beagle/basset hound mix) is experiencing cabin fever. We are all way too touchy lately and frequent arguments are erupting. Hmmm, I think there's an article in there somewhere.

One thing that this long, cold winter afforded me was time to work on my new website for The Obsessed Writers Group at
My first website was tired looking and full of advertising from the webhosting company. I don't mind a few banner ads in exchange for free webspace, but there was more ads than content on the site. I created the website to accompany the bi-monthly newsletter and the remarks from the subscribers have been very favorable. The website is for all writers both new and seasoned but you have to subscribe to get the newsletter.

I switched my free webhosting to and am happy with the selection of templates and the ease of the website construction. I have to admit I am pleased with the outcome so far. Freewebs offers lots of standard features like a blog, guestbook, chat, forums, counter and other additions you can put on your website. The fine print does says that eventually they will put an advertisement on your site so I guess I will wait to see how long it will be ad free. I don't mind the occassional ad as long as it is writing related and isn't intrusive. Please no pop-ups! I hate those things.

It's always beneficial to a writer to have a web presence even if it is just a small webpage. If you have a page or site, at least you can direct interested editors to your space to obtain more information on your writing experience and links to any archived clips you may have.
