-------------------------------------------------------
Cover: An old military instillation, Giest and Chase near
the front entrance, Kode and Jade right behind them,
Strom and Doberman coming in the back, and Cross
and Caleb busting in the door on the roof.

Nathan sat in his apartment, holding the disk in his hands. Occosionally getting up, walking to his computer, then back to sit on the bed.

**My past? Finally, after all this time. But how did Monarch come by it? Damn, I've got to watch it.***

Giest walked to his computer, put the disk in and pulled up the contents of the disk. Most of the information was encrypted. Kode would have no problem getting into it. But their was a video on here. Giest clicked on it and it begain to play. It was some sort of hospital. There were what looked to be four, maybe five people in hospital beds. As the camera view changed, Giest nearly fell to the floor. Nathan was one of the people in the beds. As the video played on, it turns out its a daily recording of progress.

After about 30 mins, Giest's head is swimming. Watching doctors probe, inject and test him repeatedly. How could I not remember this? Giest thought. The video later shows some sort of device, and Giest and the others, one by one, being put into strange looking chambers. Almost like coffins. After a while, watching guages and meters, the coffins open. Nathan see's himself leap from the coffin, striking the closest person in a lab coat. Then procedding to destryoing the lab. The video cuts out in the middle of explosion.

Giest closes the program and puts the disk in his costume.

*** Monarch was right. I've just got more questions. What in the hell was that? What am I? I've got to find Monarch. ***

Later. The Sun is Rising.

"Everyone gear up and get to your positions." Giest said softly into his comm link.

Kode found out that this ex-military installation was being used by some terrorist group. They often kidnapped and recruited paramilitary types. And Cierra's past fit the bill.

Kode quickly fired up his equipment. Jamming any signals in or out of the place. Backup would be a bad thing. Especially since there are thirty or more already inside.

Kode and Jade then made it to their Positions, follwing behind Giest.

Giest and Chase were closest to the building in the front, while Strom and Doberman were coming in the back door.

Cross and Caleb had the roof covered, at least after they killed the two guards that were posted.

"Everyone be quick. Don't hesitate, these guys are trained military. Put them down, and fast. Go!" Giest exclaimed.

Giest and Chase were in first, with only moments passed, the others burst in. Chase made quick work of two rushing terrorists. Extending her staff, she made first contact. Her and her staff were like two parts of a whole. Watching her use it was like watching a ballet. The first guy never knew what hit him. A swift strike to the side of his head near the temple put him out like a light. If he lives, he won't be feeling good about it. She quickly turned her attention to the next guy, first disarming him, then planting the end of her staff in his solar plexes. If that wasn't enought, she flicked a button on her staff that sent enough volts into the guy to make a horse piss itself. He was done. Giest has already burned though four guys, and working on another trio of goons.

Top side, coming down the stairs were Cross and Caleb. Cross wears a loose fitting hood that comes down to his shoulders. His suit is ash white and has black markings and straps/harnesses on his chest. He has a black cross over one eye. He has two sords on his back, and several guns. With his guns pulled, he teleports in the middle of a group of terrorists, opens fire, and teleports out quickly. The men, slow to react turn to fire filling each other full of lead.

Caleb, like Doberman, was created by Cryogen. He was templated with genetic material from most of the big cats. He looks pretty normal, except he's pretty hairy, has long talons and fangs over 2 inches long. He is extemely agile and very strong. Two guys running up on him, firing their semi-automatic weapons, just get him in the mood. He leaps over the two mens volly of gun fire and mangle their jugglars. A couple more see him do it and try to turn and run. Too late. Caleb throws to spheres very quickly, one at each of the cowards. Nailing them in the back of the head, the sphere's burst. One, very much like liquid nitrogen times a thousand, and the other, a highly potent acid. Both men die badly. Caleb smiled. His animal instincts for killing were in high gear. He tore into several more thugs as his blood lust escelated. Cross, who used to be a Mafia hit man, was impressed by the young mans verocity. Cross was pretty new to the group. Giest saved his life and recruited him. Cross never felt that what he was doing was wrong, seeing as how hit men typically only kill other criminals. Giest agreed and thought his skills would help the group, and they certainly have today. Cross was making short work of these goons. Obviously a veteran of combat.

"Sir, we lost communication with our field project" Some whiney underling announced.

"Good. That means Giest found our little present. I think he'll be delighted to find his precious Cierra is in good health. At least physically." Keller said.

"Giest?" Siloette asked.

"Another time Sil, for now you must rest. Your ordeal is over. Your home." Keller said smiling.

Off in the distance.

A familiar shadow looms in the darkness. Watching Giest and his comrades do their thing.

*** He must be crazy. I just don't understand this at all. He nearly killed all of us, and now he's some sort of heroic do gooder. Damien won't like this one bit. I don't like this one bit. Its one thing to compete with one another for power. But to have one as the enemy, its unacceptable. I would really hate to have to terminate him. His brother might take it personally. But I would be doing us all a favor. *** Monarch thought.

*** This is getting boring. Time to leave. ***

And as quickly as the shadow formed, so did it vanish.

Strom turned to avoid being hit with a rifle butt, the blades on his left fore arm extend. They are two and a half feet long and not very sharp. They don't have to be. Not a split second after they extend, a warm glow eminates from them. A slight red glow accompanied by a strange hum. Strom strikes the soldier , not with all his strength, but enought to push the warm blades throught the soldiers buttery flesh. Two pieces hit the floor. Another almost catches Strom off guard. Strom likes it close and personal. He turns to face the incoming bad guy, reaches out with his right hand palming the guys face, much like a basketball player palms the ball. A red glow and arcs of red light shoot from the mans covered face. A quick scream and he's on the floor. Smoldering.

Doberman, who doesnt' even use a weapon, is doing fine on his own as well. Using his raw strength to snap necks and break bones. Doberman, who is so laid back the rest of the time, is just as vicious in combat as the rest of his team. He knows what needs to be done, and what will happen to his friends if he doesn't. The sad fact of the matter is these guys were using dogs to patrol with. Doberman showed up, and suddenly they were turning on their masters. Ripping out jugglars and biting at tendons and joints. If they had known doberman was coming, perhaps they would have used something else.

It wasn't long before the last of the soldiers fell. As Giest's team secured the area, Giest and Strom went down stairs to the holding cells. Unfortunatly they were a bit too late. Several girls were already dead. And the three that were alive, were only so barely. Cierra was one of them.

The girls were unconcious, Kode and Doberman helped them to the van. Giest carred Cierra. Cross was trying to calm Caleb down, so that he wouldn't bite anyone on the team. No telling if he's had a rabies shot.

"Good work guys" Strom said over the comm.

"Is anyone hurt? Everone okay?" He added.

After a round of replies, everyone was in route back to Giest's apartment building. The building that he owned. The entire top floor of the four building complex was his. They all had places they could say in the building. And their base of operations was their also.

"Thank all of you for your help." Giest said

"No problem, Any time, Sure thing" and more were said in reply.

Two days later.

"So, how are you feeling?" Giest asked.

"I've been better." Cierra said.

"I can imagine. Can I get you anything?"

"No, you've done enough. But I'd really like to be alone for a while. I've got alot of thinking to do, you know?" Cierra said.

"Sure, I understand. Just call if you need anything" He replied.

"Thanks" She said, forcing a smile and politeness.

Back at the hide out, they love calling it a hide out.

"Shh.. check this shit out man" Doberman said pointing at the tv set.

"Five year old, Susan Anderson was found dead near a grocery store in downtown Neon City. Eye witness reports said they saw her with a tall man, dressed in an odd coat and hat before she dissapeard. Her mother had stepped away for just a second when she went missing. Police are urging anyone with information to call in and report it. This is the 17th killing of what people are calling the Kid Killer Clown. This is Jessica Angel for Neon City News 19" Came from the Television set.

"Christ, this guy is a real wack job. If I ever get my hands on him, I'll rip his heart out" Doberman said.

"Hell yeah!" Strom answerd.

And the others agreed as well.
