White rocks, black rocks, purple rocks, pink rocks
If only the world were filled with rocks
Oh wait, it is
But I don't see them

Sometimes a rock will get mud smeared over it
Or a petroform painted on it
Sometimes a rock will be grown over with moss or grass
And then they stand out like snakes, turtles and warriors carrying spears
But usually a rock stands on its own

Rocks are full of complicated detail
A rock can come in almost shape or color or any variety of colors
A rock can contain thousands of tiny minerals
Or it can be comprised of one solid mineral type
Rocks can contain all kinds of sharp edges and deep crevasses
And over many years rocks can change
They can crack or break or change their shape

But these are all the things I fail to see
On a daily basis as I walk past millions of miles
Of sedimentary strata and discordant plutons
Because I am rock blind

Even though it seems as though the whole world are Geologists
I alone am the rock blind one
Please hurl me on top of a stalagmite
So I can die with a rock pressed straight through my heart
