A question occurred to me the other day (why is it always 'the other day?'). Back to the subject, if nobody believed in God, would God exist? Or to put it another way, God needs us to believe in him, because if we don't, well, he's had it really. We seem to have fought an awful lot of wars because of religion. God was on the side of right in those conflicts and since both sides would believe they were right, then God was on both sides? - Yikes!!!

People, over the years, must have poured billions of pounds, dollars whatever into the coffers of various religions and in return we get, what exactly, that we couldn't find in ourselves without the expense of building a church, mosque or synagogue?

Don't ask questions - the imam, priest, vicar, rabbi is always right, oh yeah?

But anyhow, that's my soap-box session finished. Whatever comforts you, then believe in it, I don't have the right to say you musn't.

Take care
Paul the Ogg

In five hundred years time, most of us will be forgotten dust. But Hitler will still be remembered, God loves irony.

Interesting
Nice piece, its nice to have some
'devine intervention' It is ironic in a sense that God needs us more then we need him in reality for without our belief he does not exist. I guess i'm just babbling along anyways thanks for the insight.

OGGY:)
God so loved the world that he gave us you:)Wouldn't it be cool if we were just puppets controled by some higher civilzation in their virtual reality game? That would be too weird.

Anyway you bring up an excellent point of view, but I believe that we were first God's thought and we came to know him as our creator and our thoughts turned to him.

The universe is too amazing to be only left to science. God is the greatest physicist that there will ever be.

late
I may be a late inty into what has turned out to be a nice debate, but I would like to say that, if in fact you believe that God is the force behind all of these wars, consider this. God preiched that we love or enimies not neuc them. God creats, Man perverts. Just food for thought.
Good piece though.

Zeus
Ogg

Hey, I grew up reading Zeuss. that guy could really put a rhyme together.

No, really tho, I suppose all beings must believe in something -- a higher power, or at least that there might be something better somewhere.

I watch my dog, Snuffy, sleaping on the bed. She is about 60 pounds and a very active animal. But sometimes when she is sleeping she shivers -- not the rabbit dream kind of shiver, but like she has a chill. I wonder what causes that...

Nice thoughts, good comments by all.
