I once knew a kid,
A fun loving kid
Who loved to drink and smoke.

He was quick with his fists
And quick with his wits
How he could laugh and joke.

He went off to war,
A terrible war
But courage he did not lack.

Now a stranger has come home
To his place
The kid never came back.
