Yesterday, I did some indepth reading about the new virus that is to strike today. I am praying that my computer will be safe. I have alot of my work saved that isn't backed up at the moment. I know I should back everything up but I am alway so rushed. However, I do send all of my completed work to be stored at an specific email address that I do not use for any other purpose.

I came up with that idea because that way I always I have the final copy of anything I send out. I also do this for queries so I always have a copy available for any article that is circulating.
Right now I am using AVG virus protection on my PC with a Macfee firewall. The firewall is so complicated that I don't even know if it is set up properly. I am having the 'geek' squad come and network my computer and my kids' computer so I will have them explain to me what I need to do with it.
My neighbor stopped me yesterday and informed me that one of the computers is not secure. Evidently, their computer geek came to set up a wireless connection and it showed different computers in the immediate area - one didn't have a firewall. Mine both do and I am pretty sure that they are running because they load when you turn on the computer. My neighbor is using cable for their internet access whereas we are on the phone line and are not hooked up for wireless. Can someone still hack into my compuer if the two computers are using to different mediums for internet access? Hmmm, very interesting.
